Annie Wellborn was born in Lexington, Georgia. She has “never been out of Georgia but one time” – as a child she went with the family lumber business to “the edge of North Carolina.” She had a vision in 1990 in which the Lord revealed to her that “she would paint and He would be known through her.” He said she would be well-known – when she replied that she did not want to be well-known, “He said ‘Yes, but I do.’” She feels “very humble that God gave me this talent.” She has survived seven surgeries. She shares a small mobile home with her husband and retarded brother-in-law. She paints the visions that God has given her, family life, and the angels that have circled her bed for the past 20 years (some of which she says are relatives that have gone on). She uses acrylics on board, tarpaper, wallpaper, canvas board or anything I can find.”
